“Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.”

the sharp breeze winds down my lungs
blowing the ashes of summer
my warm skin
touched by the fresh arrival of autumn
the crisp air crunches under my breath
tickles my nose, awakens my dry soul
knock… knock… sing the raindrops
full of the dewey plumpness,
they slide on my hair
ever so gently
the crimson leaf
dangles
dancing gracefully
under the hood of the clouds
the sky
opens up
with plush cotton balls
and allows the autumn sun
kiss the earth
kindly
very
lightly

happy first day of autumn! how is autumn where you live?

I really like your imagery here – I can feel Fall
Thanks, I’m glad you liked it
I get happier and happier as autumn progresses, because it’s getting closer to winter!
Unfortunately the first day of autumn was hot as balls for me. Laugh now, summer, your end is coming…
I remember you love snow…I do not…but I am making an effort to appreciate all the seasons and all of nature. So snow poems coming soon I guess hihi
Haha, to each their own! I’d appreciate some snow poems though, even if they’re primarily sarcastic/comical in tone.
This is really lovely Em 🙂
Thank you x
Brilliantly vivid snapshots of the changing seasons! Loved this! Hope you’re well 🙂
