“What a strange thing!
to be alive
beneath cherry blossoms.”
― Kobayashi Issa, Poems
—
they perch plush
and plum
on the tree branches
that used to stare
naked to the sky
dipped in
giggling pink
and
chuckling white
cherry blossoms smell like the dirt
after fresh rain
new
beginnings
new
life
fresh
hope
they suckle
on the warming
sun rays
under the burning gold
that pierces the dead
out of the alive
spring is my favourite time

What a beautiful poem!
Thank you x
My pleasure!
I love watching the world come alive in spring! Plants seem to grow by inches per day.
It is such a joy, indeed!
So wonderfully written, very refreshing, as I love Cherry Blossoms. They scream Spring.

You are very welcome 💜🌸
I had a cherry tree for many years and the blossoms were my favorite part of spring.
Oh, what a joy!
Lovely poetry, I can smell the Spring already 🙂
Thank you x
One of the things I miss about living in the Pacific Northwest is all the cherry blossoms.
As for Spring, it’s my least favorite season by far. Springs where I am are cold, wet, muddy, miserable things – like a worn-out politician.
Spring is the beginning of the ending of winter 😀
If we could just skip Spring and go right to Summer I’d be perfectly happy 🙂
