i lost my gloves

“The present moment is filled with joy and happiness. If you are attentive, you will see it.”
Thich Nhat Hanh, Peace Is Every Step: The Path of Mindfulness in Everyday Life

it was lunch break

and i was seeking

a hundred ways

to bury my head

in the sand of oblivion

i buried it so deep

that the work day dissipated from the past

and

melted into my present

a sense of wander-ment

at the end of the hour

i had lost my gloves

where could they be?

i didn’t remember…

i couldn’t remember the fleeted hour

the streets

the people

the shops

the sky

the lives around

i could only recall

dwelling in my thoughts

arriving nowhere

when did i stop

being

in the present

where does my

essence

fly to

why has my eyes

become blind

and my senses

numb

the present was here

but i was gone

how present (or not) are you?

  1. I actually did just lose one of my gloves the other day, and I’m not happy about it.

    1. We gotta meditate or sth to ground back to the present!

      1. Lol yea, that’ll save us! Or just get more sleep..

    1. Thank you x

  2. I’m here but a lot of associated stuff has to find their own way, like the one glove. There are also wandering socks. Several marbles escaped. Attention needs a new leash, it wanders often.

The ever present core me is here. It’s just a bad manager.

    1. Oh yes, all the tangible lost objects in our virtual word of thoughts!
