“Your nightmares follow you like a shadow, forever. ”
― Aleksandar Hemon, The Lazarus Project

I open my eyes to the new day
You leave me reeling
A riptide trapped in my skeleton
From the depths of my stomach to the well in my eyes
An inconspicuous pull
Tugging at my strings
Carving a frown into my smiles
Dimming my word, inside and out
What clutching roots sprung you on my helpless mind?
What ceaseless fabrications doomed you sorrowful?
You are just a typical dream
A fleeting image, impregnating a second
The image is gone
Not even etched into visualities of a memory
But the feeling persists
Wrenching my gut
Pulling my strings

Have you ever had a dream that you don’t remember, but it leaves you with a glum feeling all day?

Thank you 🙂
I am so glad I stumbled upon this poem. its so good <3
Thank you x
Love it – you capture that sense of disquiet perfectfully
Thank you, glad you liked it.
These days the memories of my dreams are fleeting. That said, I’ve had some recurring dreams that are etched in my memory. I wrote about some of them here:

Thanks for sharing, eerie how most people get the same type of dreams!
From what I’ve read, these kinds of recurring dreams are common.

Thanks!
Whew. I felt that!
I hope I didn’t bring you down on a Monday!
Not at all, if anything, you put me in touch with my life and remembrance that I’m not alone in these experiences. Being more introverted and guarded in allowing others in my bubble, it lures my heart…a door creaking open
That’s an honour for me then <3
