“To be content with little is difficult; to be content with much, impossible.”
― Marie von Ebner-Eschenbach, Aphorisms
I took this picture on my way to work one morning. I was passively walking by the store when something eerie tickled my vision.
It’s only a poster of women wearing a certain clothing line, hanging behind a mannequin. But to me, it looks like she is holding on the mannequin’s hand while climbing the stairs.
It reminds me of how we are sometimes clinging to lifeless materials in order to drag ourselves out of a pit.
Holding onto arbitrary creations for relief, but they are hollow, helpless, motionless, they can’t save us.
Occasionally, they offer fleeting comfort, mask the agitation, evoke tingly satisfaction.
Isn’t that silly? Just like this picture.
