Poems Writings

the smell of spring

“You can cut all the flowers but you cannot keep Spring from coming.”
Pablo Neruda

gently

softly

reassuringly

the aroma fills my being

like a song

sang with care

by the most delicate winged-creatures

it brushes my nose

kisses my soul

infuses the space inside

with hope

the kind that tingles in your stomach

my mind floats

above the physical reality

as if it takes a seat

on the cotton edge of a cloud

serenaded in sweet melodies

as if dipped in tree saps

that soak through my skin

and envelope every cell

hope springs

in the dark corners of my heart

like a child asking for the first time

why is the sky so blue?

i see no flowers yet

but i know

spring is coming

I hope this poem uplifts you, even slightly. Tell me, how are you feeling?
