โ€œIt’s so hard to forget pain, but it’s even harder to remember sweetness. We have no scar to show for happiness. We learn so little from peace.โ€

โ€• Chuck Palahniuk, Diary

You rise with warmth

slowly slither

and wrap

around my core

Spread your

breath-stifling daggers

Drag heated streaks

inside my being

My womb

births a million sharp stabs

that hunch my back

and break my will

A throbbing beast

roams my middle

strangling my ovaries

tugging at my gut

A thousand eggs laid inside

all hatch at the same time

The fledglings peck

their way out

You unfurl to

my legs

my spine

my mind

I hang my womanhood

and pray

for the bloody release

Sorry if this was too graphic, not the most mellifluous poem, I know!

But the pain has taken over all my sense. Maybe the gentleman can get a glimpse into one of the dark sides of being a woman, and the ladies might relate.

So ladies, do you have any tips for soothing the cramps?

  1. You have a great gift for expressing yourself. My wife has found that drinking Red Raspberry Leaf Tea smoothes out cramps. For you, it won’t help much this time obviously, but next time. The tea has to be consumed regularly to be effective. Google it. Sorry if it’s awkward for a guy to comment, but that’s the nature of blogs.
